The Night of Power While Christians will be sleeping, on the night of 26 th June, after fasting all day and ending it with iftar (celebratory feast), millions of Momins (Practicing Muslims) will keep awake all night to pray, repent, recite Quranic verses and even spend the night in the Mosque. This night is called Shabe Barat in Persian or Laylatul Qadr in Arabic (the Night of Power or destiny). This is the night when Allah comes down to the lowest heaven to hear the prayers and petitions of Muslims (surrendered). Any action done on this night such as reciting the Quran, remembering Allah, etc. is better than acting for one thousand months.
