Inheritance Walk

INHERITANCE WALK
1.      After separation from his nephew Lot, God showed the promised land of Canaan from the top of the hill to Abraham and commanded him to “Arise and walk the length and breadth of land” that God was going to give it to his descendants as an inheritance to possess the gates (cities) of the enemy. Genesis 13:17; 22:17,18

2.      Whenever and wherever Abraham had an encounter with God, he did not build temples or houses for himself but he built altars and worshipped God with a sacrifice and eventually surrounded the entire land of Canaan, as his inheritance. Gen. 12:7,8

3.      Altars were built with plain mud or uncut stones, out in the open, so that no man could take glory for building religious edifices and indulge in idolatry. Exodus 20:24,25

4.      God told Joshua that wherever the sole of your feet tread the ground, I have given it to you. Only be courageous, strong and obedient. Later Joshua chided the children of Israel for being slack in possessing the land that God had already given to them as an inheritance. Joshua 1:3-8; 18:3-9

5.      Jesus walked every day of his life while on earth; “I have been sent to go”. When some people tried to scare Jesus that Herod wanted to kill him, He said, “Go and tell that fox that I heal the sick and deliver the demonized, today, tomorrow and the next day I will be perfected. For I must walk today, tomorrow and the day after.” Mark 1:38; Luke 4:43; 13:31-33

6.      Paul asked us to raise our holy hands and pray everywhere. He said that as a priest of Jesus, he offers repentant Gentiles as living sacrifice. The church is now the altar for offering lost souls, an offering well pleasing to God. 1Timothy 2:8; Romans 15:16; Hebrews 2:5,9

7.      Our feet should follow our prayers. We need to go everyday weeping (interceding) with the seed (gospel) and come back rejoicing with sheaves (harvest). Psalm 126:5,6

8.      Our daily walk with the Lord should result in the opening of the eyes of those who sit in darkness and in the shadows of death and their transfer from the kingdom of Satan into Kingdom of God and obtain an eternal inheritance with the saints. Matthew 3:15,16; Acts 26:18

9.      Prayer points:
A.     “Ask me and I will give nations for an inheritance and the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.” Psalm 2:8

B.      Pray for rulers and those in authority that they may come to the knowledge of truth and be saved. 1Timothy 2:1-4

C.      Pray for laborers because the harvest is truly ready and plentiful. Luke 10:1,2; John 4:35

D.     First bind the strongman and then plunder his possessions (peoples and places) Matthew 12:28-30; 16:19

E.      Pray for the revelation of the altars (houses of peace), which God has already visited to raise up the fallen tabernacle of David, where broken and contrite hearts can offer their bodies and minds as reasonable sacrifice to be discipled, baptized, equipped and sent out to reproduce themselves. Luke 10:1-9; Acts 15:14-17; Romans 12:1,2; Psalm 51:17; Malachi 1:11

10.  Our goal is not just to inherit our Canaan (land) but to establish with our inheritance of redeemed souls, a city whose builder and maker is God. And only then can we enter our Sabbath rest, just as God did after six days of creative work. Hebrews 11:10; 4:10
